Louis François Joseph, Prince of Conti

Joseph Louis François II de Bourbon, prince de Conti ( born September 1, 1734 Paris, † March 13, 1814 in Barcelona) was the only legitimate child of Louis François I, prince de Conti and his wife Diane Louise de Bourbon- Orléans.

Louis François successfully served in the Seven Years' War. In addressing the Chancellor with the Parliament he was on the side of Maupeou and spoke in favor of the continued existence of the old constitution. He emigrated at the outbreak of the French Revolution in 1789, but refused to accept the Allied invasion of 1790. He returned to France and was arrested in 1793 as a monarchist. He was released, but deprived of all his goods. The Board later banished him from France. Louis François Joseph died in Barcelona and with him went out the house Conti.

Since 1759, he was married to Maria Fortunata d' Este, daughter of Duke Francis III. of Modena, from which it separated again in 1775. He left with Marie Anne Veronese an illegitimate son, Louis François, chevalier de Vaureal ( 1761-1785 ).
