Louis Le Breton

Louis Le Breton ( * 1818 in Douarnenez, † 1866 ) was a French physician and painter.

Life

Louis Le Breton studied medicine in Paris and took Jules Dumont d' Urville taking part in the expedition to the South Pole in part. On the journey he recorded his impressions. From 1847 he devoted himself entirely to painting, specializing in maritime subjects.
