Louise Héritte-Viardot

Louise Marie Pauline Viardot - Héritte ( born December 14, 1841 in Paris, † January 17, 1918 in Heidelberg) was a French composer, singer and pianist.

Life

Hériette - Viardot was born into a family of musicians: her mother was the famous singer Pauline Viardot -Garcia, a subsidiary of the Spanish tenor Manuel del Pópulo Vicente García, her aunt, the legendary Maria Malibran. She was trained by her mother a singer, but was impaired in their career because of health problems. With the assistance of Clara Schumann, she found a job as a singing teacher at the Hoch Conservatory.

Work

Hériette - Viardot composed alongside chamber music pieces and orchestral works and symphonies, many of her compositions are gone but lost. These include a 1877, first performed in Paris Trio in C minor, as well as a sonata for cello and piano from the year 1909. Their 1879 comic opera premiered in Weimar Lindoro. Her three piano quartets ( Quartet in D Minor, A Major Quartet In the summer and D major Spanish quartet ) were taken in 2008 on CD.
