Love Do not Cost a Thing (English for "Love costs nothing " ) is the first single from Jennifer Lopez's second studio album, J.Lo ( 2001). It reached shortly after the release number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and there was her first number -one hit in the United Kingdom. Lopez sang the song for the first time at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2000 on 16 November 2000 in Stockholm, Sweden live.

The song Latin Girls by The Black Eyed Peas refers in places on Love Do not Cost a Thing.

Music Video

In the music video Jennifer Lopez gets into a limousine and goes to the highway. In the sedan Lopez stripped while driving. At the beach she takes a break, she walks and stripping it. First she throws away her sunglasses, then her sweater and then her bra. Then she gets out of her pocket a postcard, that is called: "Wish you were here"; Lopez is now surrounded by dancers ( one of the dancers is Lopez's ex-husband, Cris Judd ). Then the camera zooms to the postcard. Lopez then tears up the postcard and throws it away. It gets rid of other symbols of luxury through to undress on the beach.

At the MTV Video Music Awards 2001 the video was nominated in two categories: Best Female Video and Best Dance Video.

Commercial success

In the Billboard Hot 100 Love Do not Cost a Thing reached number 3 in the U.S. and was a huge success for Lopez. In the UK, the single was 2001, her first number -one hit.
