Loyal to None is the first solo album by guitarist Herman Frank, who was formerly among others at Victory and currently has been with Accept. The album was released on 27 February 2009 on Metal Heaven (distributed by Soulfood ).
Formation
After more than 30 years as a guitarist in various bands, music producer, band coach and as editor of Guitar Instructional Videos and DVDs Herman Frank decided to release a solo album. After he presented his first ideas singer Jiotis Parachidis (ex - Human Fortress, Victory ), explained this ready to sing it. The two took on their first demo recordings and Frank recruited drummer Stefan Schwarzmann ( Crocus ) and bassist Peter Pichl (ex - Running Wild ), which are old companions of him.
The album was composed by Herman Frank in his own and in his own studio, the 20 Arena Studios in Hannover, recorded.
Music style
The musical style of Loyal to None is melodic Power Metal, which gets most of its influences from the 1980s. The music is very guitar- centered and contains typical elements of similar albums of solo guitar players: fast guitar playing, tremolo and frequent variations. The music is usually kept very quickly and deviates only a few times more midtempo -oriented pieces or songs with more hymn-like character. It was noted in the reviews that Frank's solos unlike other albums by guitarist song are useful in the first place and do not constitute an end in itself.
