Lublin Voivodeship

The Lublin (Polish województwo lubelskie ) Province is one of the 16 regions, divided by the Republic of Poland. It is located in the eastern part of Poland and of the Podlasie Voivodship, Masovian, Holy Cross, and the Carpathian foreland ( from north to south ) enclosed. In the east, bordering the Lublin Voivodeship, which emerged in the wake of the Polish administrative reform of the voivodeships of Lublin, Chelm, Zamość, Biała and parts of Tarnobrzeg and Siedlce in 1999, with Belarus and Ukraine. Capital is the eponymous Lublin.

The Lublin Voivodeship is divided into 20 counties, which in addition to the provincial capital of Lublin three other cities remain acyclic. The counties named after them they do not belong to themselves.

The western boundary is the Vistula River, the eastern boundary of the bug.

Economy

The Lublin Voivodeship is one of the poorest regions in the EU. Expressed in comparison with the EU GDP in purchasing power standards reached the province in 2006 an index of 35.3 (EU-27 = 100). The unemployment rate in December 2009 was 12.8 percent, which corresponded to 117,200 people.
