Castaignos (2010)
Luc Castaignos ( born September 27, 1992, Schiedam ) is a Dutch footballer who is since 2012 at Twente Enschede under contract.
Youth
The ancestors of his family are on the Atlantic coast, 100 km from Bordeaux in the south- west of France. His father Jean -Luc was born in France and his mother comes from the Cape Verde Islands, but has in the meantime the Italian nationality. In October 1990, two years before Luc's birth, the parents came to the Netherlands. He came in Schiedam, South Holland and grew up there in a troubled neighborhood with a high proportion of immigrants.
Club career
On 24 September 2009 Luc Castaignos Feyenoord Rotterdam made his professional debut when he came on in the closing stages of the Cup game against Harkemase Boys. Overall, he came in the season 2009/10 on three league and two cup inserts for Feyenoord, but could not score a goal. However, he was in the 2010/11 season with 15 league goals already top scorer of his team. Still, the playing time for Castaignos Feyenoord and was disappointing: In the league they finished the season from only on the 10th place in the Cup and the UEFA Europa League, retired early.
Already in January 2011 signed a contract with Inter Milan Castaignos, but changed only after the conclusion of the season in the Italian metropolis. His competitive debut for Inter he was 6 August 2011 in the match for the Italian Super Cup when he came on in the closing stages of the match against AC Milan for Joel Chukwuma Obi. In a league match against AC Siena November 27, 2011 Castaignos scored his only competitive goal for Inter, as he scored in the 90th minute for the decisive 1-0.
In February 2012, Castaignos has been banned for three league games, as was seen on a video recording of a league match against FC Bologna, as he spits in the direction of his opponent Andrea Raggi. Although Castaignos Raggi not met, but the images left no doubt as to his intention.
After Castaignos could not prevail at Inter, he moved back to the end of July 2012 Eredivisie for FC Twente in Enschede. He signed a four year contract there.
National
Castaignos ran on for various youth teams of the Dutch national football team. In the U-17 European Championship in 2009, scoring three goals in the Castaignos, he reached with his team the final against hosts Germany. Although the Dutch, thanks to an early goal from Castaignos took the lead, they lost 1:2 after extra time.
Game style
Despite his young age Castaignos is described as a fast, physically strong player with good vision. His preferred foot is the right, but he is also looking to the left and the conclusion is also a strong header of a ball. Frequently Castaignos is compared with Thierry Henry, bringing both his playing style and his appearance are meant.
