Lucas Moreira Neves

Cardinal Lucas Moreira Neves, OP ( born September 16, 1925 in São João del Rei, Brazil, † September 8, 2002 in Rome) was Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia and later became a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Moreira Neves came in 1945 in the order of the Dominicans a. He was ordained on July 9, 1950 for the priest.

On June 9, 1967, Pope Paul VI. him Auxiliary Bishop of São Paulo and titular bishop of Feradi Maius.
