Lučenec-Košice Depression

The Juhoslovenská kotlina ( " Südslowakischer boiler ") is a lying in southern Slovakia valley which geomorphologically to Loschontz - Košice Depression ( Lučensko - Košice zníženina ) and thus belongs to the Inner Western Carpathians.

The boiler is in the northwest of the Krupinská planina ( " Karpferer plateau " ) and the Zvolenska kotlina ( " Altsohler boiler " ), on the north by the Slovak Ore Mountains and Slovak Karst, in the east of the Hungarian border and in the south of Cerová Highlands and again surrounded the Hungarian border.

The boiler is further divided into three units:

  • Ipeľská kotlina ( Eipel - boiler)
  • Lučenská kotlina ( Loschontz - boiler)
  • Rimavská kotlina ( Rimau - boiler)

The majority of the boiler is drained by the river Ipeľ that flows and forms part of the border between Slovakia and Hungary, from east to west. Some parts in the eastern part of the catchment area of the river Rimava.
