Luciano EmÃlio
Luciano Emilio ( born December 12, 1978 in Ilha Solteira, Sao Paulo ) is a Brazilian footballer.
Career
Previous years
In 1995 he played the Brazilian third division XV de Piracicaba. At the age of 16 years, Emilio made there his first experience in professional football. In the next season he moved to Rio Branco.
In 1997, he joined the 1st FC Cologne. At first, he played for the youth team of the club. He then made the jump to the professional squad.
After he could not prevail at the Billy Goats, he moved to Alemannia Aachen, where he was able to record 24 appearances for itself in one season. Nevertheless, he left then from Aachen and went back to his home country and played in the current third division União Barbarense.
Honduras and Mexico
Then Emilio moved to Honduras, where he played for Real España and CD Olimpia. After that he played in Mexico in Querétaro FC. In 2005 he moved back to Olimpia.
Major League Soccer
From 2007 he played in the American Major League Soccer with DC United in Washington, DC. At the end of his first season in the U.S., he won with the team the MLS Supporter 's Shield. He was charged with 20 goals scorer in the regular season and received the MLS Golden Boot, as well as the 2007 season was the best player selected.
In August 2009, Emilio received a U.S. Green Card. So he no longer falls under the rule of foreigners MLS. The end of 2009 refused Luciano Emilio the signature of a new contract, with which he would have received significantly less content than before. A little later, he returned to his former club Rio Branco EC. In April 2010 he signed a three - month contract with DC United and returned to Washington.
