Lucio Amanti

Lucio Amanti ( born November 14, 1977 in Montreal ) is a Canadian musician and composer of modern jazz.

Life

Amanti grew up in Naples and studied cello and composition there. Starting in 2004, studied at Indiana University in Bloomington with Janos Starker and David Baker with a focus on jazz. During his time in the U.S., he sat down with different approaches of cello playing in the field of improvisation - from Baroque music and jazz to contemporary music apart. In 2006 he received his master's degree in " Jazz Studies ".

As a solo cellist, in classical orchestras, big bands and Latin ensembles it occurs worldwide with artists such as David Baker, Luis Bacalov, David Sanchez and Roberto De Simone.

Lucio Amanti now lives in Berlin and composed solo and ensemble pieces as well as film music. His album Jazz Cello reached worldwide in 2008 in the top 10 of iTunes. He also published a " Jazz Suite for Solo Cello " (Mainz 2010). Since June 2008 he has worked in sound branding team of a large advertising agency.
