Lucius Porcius Cato

After his praetorship (no later than 92 BC ), he was during the Social War 90 BC propraetor. The commanded by his troops defeated the Etruscans, who had joined the rebellion of the Italian allies connected.

The following year, 89 BC he was consul. While his colleague Gnaeus Pompeius Strabo held the chief command in the north, Cato attacked with undisciplined armed forces of the Marsi. At first he was successful, but then he suffered during the attack on their camp at Fucino a defeat and fell.

Lucius Porcius Cato was the grandson of Cato the Censor and uncle of Cato Uticensis.
