Lucyna Winnicka

Lucyna Winnicka (* July 14 1928 in Warsaw; † 22 January 2013) was a Polish theater and film actress. They also dealt with alternative medicine.

Life

After finishing high school in Warsaw Tadeusz Reytan Lyceum, she studied law at the University of Warsaw. She then studied at the Warsaw Theatre Academy. She married the film director Jerzy Kawalerowicz. Since 1954, she mostly played leading roles in the films of her husband. Particularly significant were her roles in the films " The Night Train " (1959, with a prize at the film festival in Venice, excellent) and "Mother Joan of the Angels " (1959). For her role in "Mother Joan of the Angels " was awarded in 1962 in France with the Étoile de Cristal for Best Foreign Actress. She also appeared in the theaters of Szczecin and Warsaw. She played one of the roles in the 1967-1968 Polish film series " seconds to decide " (Polish Stawka większą Niz życie ). In 1977, she played her last film role.

Since then, she worked on alternative medicine and wrote two books: "W poczekalni nieba " ( in the waiting room of the sky - talks about life and death ) and " Podróż dookoła Świętej krowy " ( A trip around the sacred cow ). She founded the " Academy of Life," where she taught unconventional healing methods, philosophy and Oriental Medicine. She was also a staff member of the weekly " Przekrój ".
