Ludmila Savelyeva

Lyudmila Mikhailovna Saweljewa (Russian Людмила Михайловна Савельева; born January 24, 1942 in Leningrad ) is a Russian actress.

Life

In 1962 she completed a ballet training at the Leningrad Academic Choreographic Vaganova School. Subsequently, it was included in the prestigious troupe the Kirov Ballet. Since 1967 it belonged to the ensemble of the theater studios of film actor. Her film debut was in 1967 in the role of Countess Natasha Sergei Bondarchuk 's monumental literary adaptation in war and peace. She gained international notoriety and thus the readers of the magazine Ekran Sovetsky they chose for best actress of the year. In her second film, she took over in 1969 starred in Vittorio de Sica's Sunflower. In 1978, she was honored for her portrayal of Julia Wrewskaja, a freedom fighter of the Russian- Ottoman war in Bulgaria, at the film festival in Varna with the Best Actor Award. Since the mid- 1980s, she often played under the direction of Sergei Solovyov.

1985 Saweljewa was awarded the title People's Artist of the RSFSR. She has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

Saweljewa is married to the actor Alexander Sbrujew and mother of actress Natalia Sbrujewa.
