Ludwig Draxler

Ludwig Draxler ( born May 18, 1896 in Vienna, † November 28, 1972 in Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician of the Christian Social Party.

Life

Draxler studied law in Innsbruck and was a member of the Corps Rhaetia since 1919. Since 1928 he worked as a lawyer advisor to the national leadership of the Home Guard. 1935-36, during the reign of the Austro-fascism, he held the post of finance minister. Draxler was by the Nazis in March 1938 with the first transport to the concentration camp Dachau deported (so-called celebrities transport). After the Second World War Draxler was an attorney and represented, among others the family of Habsburg -Lorraine and the former Home Guard leader Ernst Rüdiger Starhemberg.
