Ludwig Elsholtz

Ludwig Elsholtz ( born June 2, 1805 in Berlin, † February 3, 1850 in Berlin) was a German painter.

Elsholtz formed at the Berlin Academy and later at the studio of Franz Krüger. His genre paintings, mostly military scenes, attracted early attention due to their fine observation and its tasteful design.

Elsholtz ' artistic development, however, soon went to larger and form rich representations. When he due to an irregular life later lost the power to larger works, he turned to watercolor painting.

Elsholtz died 1850 in Berlin.
