Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research

The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research ( LICR ) is a global medical research facility, which operates both basic and clinical cancer research.

Founded LICR in 1971 by the American shipowner and philanthropist Daniel K. Ludwig, who invested a significant portion of its assets in billion of this Institute.

With approximately 900 employees in seven countries LICR is the largest international academic institute dedicated to cancer research. It is represented in the following locations ( and research priorities ):
