Ludwig Wrede

Ludwig Wrede (* October 28, 1894; † January 1, 1965 ) was an Austrian figure skater, who started in a single run and pair skating.

In pair skating, he was in 1925 and 1927 world champion with Herma Szabo and took the bronze medal in 1926. After Szabó finished her career, Melitta Brunner was his figure skating partner. With it, he won the bronze medal at the 1928 World Cup and the Olympics. 1929 and 1930 they were runners-up.

In some he took from 1923 to 1930 in all world championships. In 1929 he won the bronze medal. He succeeded in the same year at the European Championships. In 1924 he had become Vice-European Champion. The 1928 Olympic Games he finished in eighth place in the individual.
