Luigi Bassi

Luigi Bassi ( born September 4 or September 5, 1766 in Pesaro, † September 13, 1825 in Dresden ) was an Italian opera singer with the voice baritone.

Life

Luigi Bassi joined after his training in Italy - if the traditional date of birth is correct - already with 21 years in the premiere of Mozart's Don Giovanni in the title role, he worked then as a respected singer-actors still in numerous other roles contemporary operas and plays, most recently as director.

Especially at a young age predestined him his special talent and charisma for the role of Don Juan, and it is likely that Mozart was inspired by him.
