Luis Castañeda Lossio

Óscar Luis Castañeda Lossio ( born June 21, 1945 in Chiclayo ) is a Peruvian politician and former mayor of Lima.

Castañeda is a lawyer and served on the boards of various public institutions - mainly social security systems - operate. Between 1990 and 1996, during the reign of Alberto Fujimori, he was president of the Instituto Peruano de Seguridad Social ( IPSS ). He is a member of the electoral alliance Solidaridad Nacional (National Solidarity).

On 1 January 2003 he took over the mayors in Lima by his predecessor Alberto Andrade Carmona non-party, who served from 1996 to 2002. Main goals of his policies were primarily aimed at improving the inadequate infrastructure and tackling high crime in Lima.
