Luis Tristán

Luis Tristán (* about 1586 in Toledo, † 1624 ibid, also Luis Tristán de Escamilla ) was a Spanish painter.

Tristán was born in Toledo and became an assistant of El Greco ( 1603-1607 ). His later works are evidence of the influence of the Master. One of his best painting is the altarpiece in the church of the monastery Yepes ( 1616).
