Luka Elsner

Luka Elsner ( born August 2, 1982 in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian football player at the position of a defender and currently plays for SK Austria Kärnten in the top division of the Austrian Bundesliga.

Career

Elsner started his career since he grew up in France, at AS Cannes and at OGC Nice. In 2000 he moved to the U.S. Cagnes, where he remained four years faithfully.

In 2004 he returned to his original home and Slovenia signed for NK Domžale. In his first season at NK he was in the highest class of game Slovenian Slovenska Nogometna League runners-up. In the following season, this success could be repeated. This season (2005/ 06) played the defender for the first time at the international club level. In the first round of the UEFA Cup qualifier against the representative of San Marino, FC Domagnano Elsner played through the game was won 5-0. The Seasons 2006/ 07 and 2007/ 08 were marked by success. Both times was the championship to be won. In both master Seasons Elsner came in all games used. 2007 was also the Slovenian Supercup be celebrated.

After a fifth place in 2008/ 09 and in seventh place in the autumn season 2009/10 Elsner moved to winter break 2009/10 abroad for SK Austria Kärnten.

After decline and bankruptcy of Austria, he returned to NK Domžale.

International Elsner been played once for the Slovenian national team. On 26 May 2008, he came in a friendly against Sweden in the 88th minute Bojan Jokic for the game. The game ended 0-1 in Gothenburg.

Personal

Elsner is the grandson of former team- Chief of the Austrian national football team Branko Elsner and son of former Slovenian football player at Admira / Wacker and team leader of the Cambodian national football team Marko Elsner. His younger brother, Rok Elsner, former legionnaire at Wehen, currently playing in Kuwait at Al -Arabi.
