Luke Schaub

Luke Schaub, Lucas and Luke, ( born May 1, 1690 in Basel, † February 27, 1758 in London ) was an English diplomat Swiss descent.

Luke Schaub, son of a notary seized, according to a study of law in Basel diplomatic career in the service of England. 1715-1716 he was a British charge d'affaires to the Holy Roman Empire. 1720, he was defeated by the English King George I knighted. 1721-1724 he was an English ambassador in Paris. In January 1737 he mediated in the so-called salmon fishing dispute between Basel and France.
