Geography

Geographical Location

The village lies on the river Lune, a tributary of the Weser, and on the railway Bremen- Bremerhaven. The train station at the 1862 furnished route between Bremen and Geestemünde was opened in 1879.

Birth of the village

The community Lunestedt has been formed under this name in 1968 in the course of municipal reform of the municipalities Freschluneberg and Westerbeverstedt.
