Luttach

Luttago ( in dialect Luchta, Italian called Lutago ) is a fraction of the community Ahrntal in the northeast of South Tyrol (Italy).

General

Luttago is the second largest village of the municipality Ahrntal and has about 1000 inhabitants. The place is one of the most important tourist centers in Ahrntal, situated at an altitude of 956 m slm Around Luttago there are 14 three-thousand.

The name probably comes from the dialect Luttago word Lochn, as it has probably often been here earlier smaller floods. Luttago belonged to the end of the First World War for the judicial district Tures and was part of the district Brunico.

Church

The patron saint of the church are Luttacher of St. Sebastian and St. Roch. The parish church was built in 1445 and 1895 neo-Gothic furnishings.
