Lydia Nsekera

Lydia Nsekera ( born April 20, 1967 in Bujumbura, Burundi ) is a Burundian Sportfunktionärin.

In 1992, she completed her studies in economics at the University of Burundi. In her youth she was not allowed to play football because this was considered taboo in their country. But later, he campaigned for the African women's football.

A first milestone in her career as Sportfunktionärin it reached in 2004, when she was elected President of the National Football Association of Burundi. 2013, it was voted into this office.

Member of the International Olympic Committee, it was in 2009. In May 2012, she was elected as the first woman in the FIFA Executive Committee.
