Lymphadenopathy
As lymphadenitis or reactive lymph node swelling the lymphadenopathy (pathological swelling of the lymph nodes) is referred because of acute or chronic infections.
Examples of diseases associated with lymphadenitis:
- Acute viral infections: Viral pharyngitis: Epstein -Barr virus ( mononucleosis ), cytomegalovirus, rotavirus
- Measles
- Rubella
- Acute bacterial infections: cutaneous anthrax
- Cat-scratch disease
- Pseudotuberculosis ( caseous lymphadenitis )
