Lysias Anicetus

Lysias was an Indo - Greek king who ruled at the end of the second century BC. He is so far known only from coins that were found in the Hindu Kush and Punjab. He seems to have reigned shortly after Menander, with his empire still had considerable proportions.

Its coins show on the front of his portrait and Greek legends on the back is a picture of a standing Herakles with legends in Kharoshthi.

There is a coin showing Lysias on one side and on the other side Antialcidas. This was seen as evidence of a coregency, but sees the recent research it more as a kind of overprint.
