M-9 Super Highway

The Motorway M- 9 is a highway under construction in Pakistan. The highway runs east-west direction from Karachi to Hyderabad in the south and 136 kilometers long.

Construction

Originally the street was called " Super Highway" because it was marked due to the expansion of state of two lanes per carriageway as " National Highway ".

Modernization

In May 2011, the tender for the extension to " Motorway " was launched by the National Highway Authority. In January 2012, a contract was signed as a public-private partnership with the Malaysian construction company Bina Puri Holdings Bhd. As an operator model Build Operate Transfer (BOT) has been set. The construction costs amount to approximately 24.93 billion Pakistani Rupee (equivalent to 203.8 million euros ).

From 2012 to 2015, the road is being expanded and modernized so that they will in the future sign-posted as " Motorway " with the numbering M-9. The road will be expanded to three lanes per carriageway. First takes place from February, 2012 to the three-year construction period; a 25-year operation of the motorway takes place after the completion of the construction company as the operating company. The concession thus covers 28 years.

Facilities

After the modernization of the highway about seven interchanges / triangles and port set, two motorway service stations and 16 toll plazas will have the exits.
