M. G. Pandithan

MG Pandithan ( born April 3, 1940 in Petaling Jaya, † 30 April 2008 in Kuala Lumpur ) was an Indian- Malaysian politician and President of "Indian Progressive Front ". He belonged to the Parliament and was elected for Tapah.

Career

Pandithan was born on April 3, 1940 as the son of a laborer in Petaling Jaya. He was first at the Malaysian Indian Congress. There he was elected to the MIC Central Working Committee (CWC ) in 1977. In 1981, he became vice president of the party. In 1986 he was elected to Parliament for Tapah. After discharge from the MIC on 16 June 1988, he tried unsuccessfully to join the party again and founded in August 1988, the "Indian Progressive Front ". His several attempts to bring his party in the coalition Barisan Nasional, were from the MIC Samy Vellu presidents always prevented.

In 2006 Pandithan ill with leukemia. He died on 30 April 2008 at the age of 68 years in the " Kuala Lumpur General Hospital" after a long illness. He leaves a wife and a son.
