Ma Xiaoxu

Ma Xiaoxu (Chinese马晓旭, Pinyin Mǎ Xiǎoxù; born June 5, 1988) is a Chinese football player. The striker plays in February 2007 for the best team in Sweden Umeå IK. It is often compared by the media with Sun Wen and Wayne Rooney.

Career

Ma Xiaoxu not begin until the age of eleven years their football career with Dalian Shide. In 2003 she debuted in the youth team and two years later it is the first time in the Chinese national team.

2006 saw Ma 's international breakthrough. In April, she won the U-19 Asian Cup and was top scorer with ten goals. One of the ten goal of the tournament was the 1-0 winning goal in the final against North Korea. It was followed by the Asia Championship, at the Ma again top scorer with five goals and was voted best player of the tournament. This double triumph they could repeat in the U-20 World Cup Women 2006 in Russia.

The end of 2006 Ma was elected Player of the Year in Asia. In addition, she was honored as Asia's Jugendfußballerin of the year. In February 2007, she signed a contract with the Swedish club Umea IK. She is the first Chinese footballer in the Swedish league.
