Maackia, in German also called yellow wood, is a plant genus in the family Fabaceae ( Faboideae ) within the legume family ( Fabaceae ). It is native to East Asia. In Europe it is known by the Asian Yellow Wood ( Maackia amurensis ), which is used as an ornamental plant.

Description

Maackia species are deciduous trees and shrubs. The gray- brown bark of the branches has elongated, brown Korkporen. The axillary buds are 5-7 millimeters in size, they are broadly ovate and pointed, and are of two overlapping, dark purple brown and white hairy bud scales covered.
