Mablethorpe

Mablethorpe is a small town in East Lindsey District of the English county of Lincolnshire. It forms part of the places Sutton- on-Sea and Mablethorpe and Sutton Trusthorpe the community, which numbered a total of 11,780 inhabitants in 2001.

Geography

The resort is 35 km in a straight line south-east of Grimsby and 60km east of Lincoln on the North Sea coast.

History

Mablethorpe has been hit hard by the tsunami of 1953.

Traffic

In Mablethorpe begin and end the A roads A52 ( Newcastle -under- Lyme), A157 (after Wragby, connection to Lincoln ) and A1031 ( Cleethorpes ). Connection to the trunk road network is obtained via the nearby A16 north to Grimsby ( M180 ) and to the south in Peterborough (A1 (M)).
