Macedonian Muslims

As Torbeschen ( Macedonian Torbeši Торбеши ) refers to an ethnic minority in Macedonia. They speak the Macedonian language and belong to Islam. The term Torbeši is not popular with the members of this ethnic group. They usually prefer the term Makedonci - Muslimani ( maz. Македонци - муслимани ) to German Macedonian Muslims.

The Torbeschen are closely related to the Gorani in Kosovo and the Pomaks in Bulgaria.
