Macrobenthos
As the whole of the benthos in the benthic zone ( " ground waters " ) is referred to living organisms. Under macrozoobenthos in this case the animal organisms are summarized (still visible to the eye) to a defined size.

- Snails,
- Flatworms,
- Leeches and
- Insect larvae Stonefly larvae
- Caddis fly larvae
- Mayfly larvae
- Großflüglerlarven
- Dragonfly larvae
- Beetles and beetle larvae
- Dipterous
They are essential indicator species for aquatic habitat and are used to assess water quality.
