Madanapalle ( Telugu: మదనపల్లె Madanapalle [ mʌd̪ʌnʌpʌl ː s ] ) is a town in the district of Chittoor in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India, with about 135,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ).

She became known worldwide as the birthplace of Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895-1986), the first ( in 1909 ) by the Theosophists Annie Besant to as the " World Teacher " propagated " theosophical Saviour " and since 1929 working free spiritual lecturer and writer.
