Madison Violet

Madison Violet is a folk duo from Toronto, Canada. It consists of the singers and songwriters Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac.

History

MacIsaac and MacEachern met for the first time in an artists' meeting in Toronto when MacEachern was a member of the band Zoebliss. MacIsaac was also briefly a member of this band, and the pair continued to work together, when Zoebliss 1999 disbanded. At first they called themselves Madviolet; later they changed their name to Madison Violet.

They released three albums in Canada self-published and received for their fourth album, No Fool for Trying a contract with True North Records. In Germany they are at Lake / India Records.

The duo is always on extensive tours throughout Canada, Europe and Australia. In 2009 she received the Canadian Folk Award for " Best Vocal Group", and in 2010 they won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest with the folk. Lisa MacIsaac is the sister of the violinist Ashley MacIsaac.
