Madlyn Rhue

Madlyn Rhue ( born October 3, 1935 in Washington, DC, † December 16, 2003 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, actually: Madeleine Roche) was an American actress.

Biography

Madeleine Roche was in Washington, D.C. born. Her mother was a business woman and pulled her and her older sister on her own. After several relocations, including to Baltimore, the family moved to Los Angeles, where Roche graduated from high school and studied theater at Los Angeles City College. They later moved to a college in New York City, where she became an actress.

Her career as actress began Madlyn Rhue with an appearance in the 1957 television series Whirlybirds. Thereafter, and until the end of their work in the film business, she was mainly seen in guest roles in various television series. They rarely played in feature films, such as 1961 in the movie 1000 miles to Yokohama. Larger roles they had in the series Bracken 's World, Executive Suite, Fame - The road to fame and Days of Our Lives.

She suffered from multiple sclerosis since 1977, but continued working as an actress. For her steadily deteriorating health, she invented excuses and kept her illness a secret until the mid-1980s. After she was, however, no longer required for eleven months in 1987 she got a bigger role in The Magnificent Two, where she played a Ballistikexpertin in a wheelchair. Then she made her illness publicly about an advertisement in the magazine Variety. She participated as well, after some hesitation, 1988, an advertising campaign of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The poster, which shows her in a wheelchair, is overwritten with the catch phrase "Even with MS, Madlyn Rhue Is On a Roll ".

Your last appearance was in a 1996 episode of the television series Murder, She Wrote. In 1998 she moved into a retirement home of the "Motion Picture and Television Fund " in Woodland Hills, where she died from the effects of pneumonia in 2003.

From 1962 to 1970 she was married to actor Tony Young. The marriage remained childless.
