Madrasa (grape)

Matrassa is a red grape variety. It is named after a place in their main distribution in Azerbaijan. Other areas of production to Rostov, in the Crimea and Kazakhstan.

From Matrassa dark red table and dessert wines are usually pressed. It is also used as a component of red Crimean champagne.
