Mads Hansen

Mads Hansen ( born September 16, 1978 in Oslo) is a Norwegian ice hockey player who is since 2013 in the Storhamar Dragons in the Norwegian GET - ligaen under contract. His brother Martin is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Mads Hansen began his career in 1996 at Manglerud Star Ishockey in the Norwegian Elite Series. After three years he moved to the 1999/00 season to the Storhamar Dragons and won the Norwegian championship. In the following two years, the striker was able to improve his qualities further scorer and in 2002 for Vålerenga Oslo. In 2003, he was also able to win the Norwegian Championship with his new team. Then joined Hansen Hammarby IF from the second Swedish league, the HockeyAllsvenskan on. After a year in the league rivals IK Oskarshamn, he returned in 2005 to the Storhamar Dragons back. There, the Norwegians reached with his team in first place after the regular season, but failed in the play- offs later.

For the 2006/07 season he signed a contract with the Swedish Club Brynäs IF from the Elitserien. 2008 Hansen had to compete in the Kvalserien with his team after the last place in the regular season, but was able to reach the league there. The following year Brynäs lost in the quarter-finals 0-4 against the Färjestad BK. Hansen was 2007-2013 assistant captain at Brynäs IF, before he returned to the 2012/13 season to the Storhamar Dragons.

Internationally

For Norway, Hansen participated exclusively at the U20 Junior B World Cup 1997 at the junior level. In the senior level, he stood in the squad of his country at the B World Championships in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, and at the A World Championships in 2000, 2001, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. Moreover, he ran for Norway at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
