Mady Delvaux-Stehres

Mady Delvaux - Stehres ( born October 11, 1950 in Luxembourg City ) is a Luxembourg politician.

Mady Delvaux - Stehres studied classical literature at the Sorbonne and then worked as a teacher until 1989.

She is a member of the LSAP since 1974. From 1985 to 1989 she was a member of the Comité directeur of the party.

In 1987 she was elected to the City Council of the City of Luxembourg. In 1994, she received a first mandate in the Chambre des Députés, but resigned as member of the government again. She was re-elected to the Chamber in 1999 and remained a member until 2004.

From 1989 to 1994 she was Secretary of State for Health, Social, Youth and Sports. After the 1994 elections, she was Minister for Communications, transport and social security. From 2004 until 2013 she was Minister of Education and Vocational Training.

Delvaux - Stehres is widowed and the mother of 3 children.
