Mae Mo District

Amphoe Mae Mo ( Thai อำเภอ แม่เมาะ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the eastern part of the province of Lampang. The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Mae Tha, the, Mueang Lampang, Chae Hom and Ngao of Lampang province, as well as song and Long Phrae province.

History

Mae Mo was on 15 April 1976 as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established, consisting of the three tambon Ban Dong, Chang Nuea and Na Sak, which were cleaved from the district Mueang Lampang. On July 16, 1984, the sub-district received the full Amphoe status.

Management

The circle is divided into five subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 37 villages ( Muban ).

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
