Maekel Region

Maekel ( ዞባ ማእከል, also written Maakel, Italian Regione Centrale, to German central region) is a region ( Zoba ) Eritrea with 778,000 inhabitants.

It includes the state capital Asmara and its environs and has approximately 1300 km ² in area, the smallest region of the country.
