Maestlin is a small, bowl -shaped lunar crater near the eastern edge of Oceanus Procellarum. To the east lies the crater Encke and the north- east is the Kepler crater. Southeast of Maestlin lie the remains of Maestlin R.

Southwest runs in directions radial to the crater of a system of lunar grooves Rimae Maestlin.
