Mage Knight

Mage Knight is a strategy game with collectible miniatures, which was produced by the company WizKids and laid in the German-speaking area of FanPro. The pieces were as a starter ( includes everything you need to start playing ) and as a booster (included four randomly put together, not well-known figures on the purchase ) to buy. Most of the characters is only available in boosters.

History

In 2001, WizKids brought the first game of its kind, Mage Knight, on the market. The principle of a strategy game in which the playing pieces have been collected, was hugely popular and was a great success. More games of this type are, for example, HeroClix and Mech Warrior.

The game, initially based only on a few different parties and abilities of the characters, in time became more complex, so that an extreme deviation from the previous game pattern was achieved with the appearance of numerous extensions. Because of the increasing change to WizKids decided to break the promise never as a rotation of Magic (old playing figures may not be used in tournaments after a certain time ) introduce. This led to the end of 2005 that the company WizKids stopped production of the game and the support of tournaments, events, etc., was completed. The last significant event was the German Mage Knight Championship 2005 from the Tobias Flacke emerged as the winner.

Several performance parts and individual figures were given awards, including the Origins Award.

In September 2006, a PC version of the game was called: Mage Knight Apocalypse on the market.
