Magma: Volcanic Disaster

Magma - The world is burning ( original title: Magma: Volcanic Disaster ) is an American science fiction action film from 2006 directed by Ian Gilmore, wrote the screenplay Rebecca Rian. .

Action

The film begins with a group of geologists is surprised by a volcanic eruption. They call for help, but are killed before they come. In the next scene, a student persuades the geologist Peter Shepherd that he takes them as a team member on his next expedition.

The number of volcanic eruptions increases around the world. Shepherd and his people suggest that the activities of volcanoes threaten life on Earth. An eruption destroyed large parts of Japan. Shepherd developed a plan, thanks to the pent-up magma pressure is to be reduced controlled by a series of nuclear explosions. The plan will be carried out with the help of a submarine that uses torpedoes. It succeeds and the eruptions decrease. Shepherd is reconciled with his wife.

Reviews

Scott Weinberg wrote on 8 December 2006 at www.dvdtalk.com, the film WOULD " horrible stilted " ( " horrifically stilted "). Except for the " disinterested " but " still positive " representation of Berkeley, the film offers nothing that is not already known from similar films. Weinberg criticized the action except the "dumb" dialogues "boring" director and some of the special effects.

Background

The film was shot in Bulgaria. It was produced as a TV movie, but in Greece and in the U.S. it was released on DVD.
