Magnoliales

Magnolia sieboldii var sieboldii, spirally arranged floral organs in variety.

The magnolia -like ( Magnoliales ) are an order of plants in the informal group of Magnoliopsida. It contains six families.

Description

They are evergreen or deciduous woody plants. At the branches, the leaves are usually arranged in two rows. The leaves are undivided, often leathery and usually have a smooth edge. Stipules are not available.

Most large flowers are hermaphroditic. The individual flower organs show a distinct schraubige arrangement, the floral axis is relatively long and cone- shaped and all floral organs are present in large numbers. The carpels are free.
