Magnus Uggla

Per Allan Magnus Claesson Uggla ( pronunciation: [ ˌ ː MAN nɵs ɵg ː la ], born June 18, 1954 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish rock and pop musicians, artists and actors.

Life

Uggla started his first band in 1968 along with his neighbors in the village of Nacka. The band name was JUSO, which was a merger of the first letter of the surname of the members. They played Black Sabbath inspired music with songs like Skogen brinner ( The forest is burning ) and Domedagen ( Judgement ). After the divorce of his parents Uggla left the group and moved with his father in the Stockholm city center.

Ugglas own first pieces were heavily influenced by British punk and rock music, but also of synth pop and symphonic rock. His debut album from 1975 was called Om Bobbo Viking. On the cover Uggla was, just like David Bowie and mapped other musicians of the time heavy makeup. But his real breakthrough came in 1977 with the album Va ska ta livet av sig för you När you ändå inte får hear snacket efteråt? (Why do you take his life, but if you can not hear the gossip then? ). The success led him in 1979 to take part with the song Johnny the Rocker at the Swedish Retiring for the Euro Vision Song Contest, but where he finished last.

In the 1980s, Ugglas music evolved more towards pop. The album Välkommen till Folkhemmet of 1983, a series of satirical texts that should be Ugglas trademark later. He collaborated on a revue of the comedian Povel Ramel and had 1997 to 1998 his own show, which drew by the Swedish inns. In more recent times Uggla partially reversed back to his rock roots. At the Swedish preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2007 he took part with the contribution of conveying kung och fosterland, but could not in the preliminary round qualify for the final in Stockholm.

His awards include seven "Rock Bear" ( Rockbjörnar ), from whom he took three Swedish for the best music album and four Swedish as the best musician of the year.
