Mägo de Oz
Mägo de Oz ( often without heavy metal umlaut: Mago de Oz, Spanish for "The Wizard of Oz" or simply " Mago ")., Is a Spanish heavy metal band Due to the Irish folk elements in their music, you can describe them as Celtic Metal. History
The band was formed in winter 1988/89 from the drummer Jesús María " Txus Di Fellatio " Hernández Gil under the name " Transilvania " as a tribute to Iron Maiden. Other members were David (bass) and Pedro ( guitar), as well as the singer and guitarist Juanma. The first studio recordings which found their way eventually as bonus material in 2006 on the compilation " The Best Oz", made in 1989 and 1992. Their first appearance was in 1992 at a rock festival in Madrid. Due to frequent lineup changes published Mägo de Oz released their debut album until 1994.
By 1994, the band from Txus on drums, Mohamed on fiddle, Salvatore on bass, lead singer Juanma and Chema Rodríguez, Charlie and Paco on guitar. 1994 Charlie left the band, followed in 1996 Chema and Juanma. José, a studied tenor and singing teacher, took over the lead vocals.
In 2000 the album " Finisterra " was released. One of her first international appearances, the band had at the Wacken Open Air 2001 and the Bang Your Head 2002 in Germany. With the album " Fölktergeist " she released her first live album in eight years. On this tour, the double DVD "A Rock da Costa " was created with a report including English subtitles.

The end of 2010 came Mägo de Oz's tenth studio album out, which is a further continuation of Gaia Saga, entitled " Gaia III: Atlantia ".
In October 2011 the band announced the withdrawal José Andrea's. Already in 2010 left the flutist Fernando Ponce the band and was replaced by Josema Pizarro.
