MAG was a Hungarian manufacturer of automobiles.

Company History

The company Magyar Általános Gépgyár ( German: General Hungarian Machine Factory ) was founded in 1886 by Daniel Podvinecz and William Heisler in Budapest. Between 1900 and 1908 automobiles were manufactured under the brand name of Phoenix. Then arose to 1912 cars for a license from Fiat. The brand name MAG was used for vehicles from 1912 onwards to his own design. 1914 the company moved to Mátyásföld. There are also aircraft engines were manufactured. 1929 production ended. Overall originated 1912-1929 about 2100 automobiles.

Rolling stock

The models 25 hp and 35 hp four-cylinder engines were produced 1912-1914. 1920 appeared the model Magomobil with four-cylinder engine and 1800 cc capacity, which was also exported. In 1926 the Magosix with six-cylinder engine and 2400 cc capacity to do so.

Well- Mag

1914, the brand name well- Mag was used for the export of taxis to England and Turkey.
